Essay on My Favorite Book | My Favorite Book Essay for Students and Children in English

Books are essential for us. They play the role of a good friend and mentor from time to time. They play a massive role in making a person successful in life. Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak rightly said, "I will respect the best books even in hell because they have the power which can provide the happiness of heaven even in hell." Although I have read many books till now, in all these, 'Ramcharit-Manas' written by Goswami Tulsidas has influenced me a lot.
'Ramcharitmanas' is my favorite book because it is not only a story collection but more than that in which all the elements are present for building good character and philosophy. This book is based on the life character of King Shri Ram of Ayodhya, considered by Hindus to be an incarnation of God.

Shri Ram was the son of King Dasharatha of Ayodhya. He was very talented from childhood. He had all the qualities that an ideal son should have. Respecting his father's wish, he went to exile for 14 years, along with his brother Lakshmana and wife Sita. During this, he had to face many asuras. Shri Hanuman Ji also met him during his exile. His wife was taken away by the tyrannical demon Ravana. Shri Ram had a fierce battle with Ravana. Shri Ram won in the end, and many great demonic powers, including Ravana, were destroyed. After completing his exile, he returned to Ayodhya with his wife and brother and ruled Ayodhya for many years.

Ramcharitmanas is one of the best books in the world for the best character development of human beings. It covers almost all aspects of life. Sadness, hatred, ego, paternal bhakti, love, forgiveness, renunciation, etc., are all expressions. It teaches us how to behave with our parents, siblings, wives, sons, teachers, strangers, and other relatives. Although there is an age-old story in Ramcharitmanas, it is relevant and will remain so in the future.

Shri Ram is incarnated in this story as Maryada Purushottam, who killed the Asuras to protect Dharma. Sita remained with her husband in every happiness and sorrow in the role of an ideal wife. Leaving the entire splendor of Ayodhya, she wandered in the forest with her husband. King Dasharatha gave up his life in the separation of his son but kept his promise. Brother Lakshman supported Shri Ram in all difficulties. Brother Bharat took over the rule by becoming a servant of Shri Ram. Similarly, the devotion of Hanuman has been presented in a very excellent way in this book. Mahavir Hanuman, having received power from his lord Ram, did such great things which are unique in human history. This book is replete with many such perfect examples.

It teaches us that, in the end, good triumphs over evil. The people of evil nature ultimately suffer, or their total perishes. Undoubtedly, this book has left an indelible mark on the country's people. There will hardly be any Hindu house that does not have this book. We all need that by following its higher education ideals, we should build up the best character and make ourselves proud and the name of our family and nation proud.
